In January 2021, Nicole Solis aka “Solicole” collaborated on an apparel collection with the clothing brand Abakada named “Celestial.”

Abakada is a Chicago based clothing brand that showcases Filipino-American culture through various graphics and symbols. In the “Celestial” collection, Nicole added on to her previous “Sun & Moon” collaboration and designed graphics for the apparel using the Tagalog deities Apolaki (Sun god), Mayari (Moon goddess) and Tala (Star goddess) as her muse. Together, Nicole and Abakada created a clothing collection showcasing the contrasting visuals and motifs through Sun, Moon, and Star themed apparel including shirts, crewneck sweaters, and hoodies.

The script shown on the apparel is Baybayin, a pre-colonial Tagalog script. The script reads words pertaining to Apolaki and Mayari such as “Buwan” (“Moon” in Tagalog) and “Araw” (“Sun” in Tagalog).
